Merry Christmas from Paladin

This holiday season, we're sharing the promise of a bright future.  In lieu of traditional Christmas gifts, we are delighted to award a student in our industry the gift of education. This is a continuation of our commitment to building sciences, advanced learning, and development of our profession.

Paladin will be awarding a 2011 scholarship to a KCTCS student continuing their degree at any one of Kentucky's four-year institutions.  We look forward to sharing with you the scholarship recipient in the spring.

Thank you for your valued relationship with our firm. Your continued partnership has allowed us the gift of giving to others.

Wishing you merriment and laughter this holiday season,

Team Paladin

Industry News. Dashboards Help Turn Energy Data Into Money-Saving Action: What Energy Dashboards Can Do  By Lindsay Audin, December 2010  Share This >>ShareThis
As millions of Smart Meter"smart" electric meters are being installed in commercial buildings, electric utilities are gathering - and starting to provide - boatloads of meter data showing usage in 15-, 30- or 60-minute intervals. The goal is to help facility managers better manage their power consumption and peak demand. But many facility managers are scratching their heads when it comes to converting that data into money-saving action. To achieve those ends, some are now using real-time Web-based software to digest and portray that information in ways that lead directly to their bottom lines.  <<Click here to read the full article>>

HOLIDAY HOURS:  Our offices will be closed for the holidays beginning Thursday, December 23 and we will re-open Monday, January 3.

Project Highlight. Ashland Community & Technical College
Ashland Construction Phase Commissioning In 2007, Paladin began commissioning Ashland Community and Technical College's East Park, Phase II project located at their Greenup, KY campus. The project is a 136,000 sq. ft. $27,000,000 addition to an existing facility. Programming for the facility includes: classrooms, welding laboratories, culinary arts laboratories, chemistry and science laboratories, computer laboratories, a bookstore, a cafeteria, instructor offices, student administration offices, and circulation spaces.  Paladin's scope of services included Pre-Construction though Post-Acceptance Phase services. Currently, the project is in the Acceptance Phase. Systems commissioned include: foodservice equipment, conveying, plumbing, mechanical, lighting, emergency power, and electronic safety and security systems.

Pre-Construction services involved coordinating project documents with commissioning requirements. During Construction, Paladin lead Commissioning Team meetings, reviewed submittals, verified installation of commissioned equipment, attended manufacturer's start-up, reviewed testing and balancing work, verified resolution of issues tracking log items, and began functional testing. Functional testing continued into the Acceptance Phase in addition to owner training.
